Quetta players misbehave with umpire

KARACHI, Jan 25: Quetta players misbehaved with international umpire Islam Khan after suffering a narrow one-wicket defeat against Multan in the opening match of the Inter-board cricket championship Zone “B” at Student Ground on Wednesday. Quetta captain Muhammad Aslam argued and misbehaved with the official after the latter ruled Multan batsman not out on a run-out appeal.

All-rounder Saad Bin Nazar starred in Multan’s triumph. He first took three wickets and later cracked an unbeaten 76 off as many deliveries with five boundaries.

Quetta were 164 all out in 33.5 overs. Mohibullah (50), Muhammad Aslam (31), Majid Hussain (31) were main run-getters. Leg spinner Mazhar Bashir captured four wickets for 26 runs in 6.4 overs and Saad Bin Nazar grabbed three for 32.

Multan reached the target in 38.5 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Left-arm spinner Muhammad Kamran picked up three wickets for 32 runs.

Mirpurkhas and Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) also won their matches.

At TMC Ground, Mirpurkhas beat Sukkur by four wickets. Mirpurkhas managed 194 in 38.4 overs. Rehan Afridi (39), Abdul Jabbar (36), M. Sohail (31) and Arshad (24) were main scorers. Danish Faisal ended at 23 not out. Sukkur in reply were restricted to 190 for eight wickets in their 40 overs.

At PCB Academy Ground, Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) beat Hyderabad by one wicket after an exciting contest.

Hyderabad batting first were dismissed for 160 in 37.3 overs. Rizwan Khan topscored with 34. SBTE in reply reached the target for the loss of nine wickets.
