DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The chairman Board of Governors Medical Teaching Institute (BOG MTI) has withdrawn the suspension orders of dean and chief executive officer (CEO) of Gomal Medical College,

Dr Naseem Saba Mehsud, a notification issued here said.

The notification issued by BOG MTI Chairman Raza Khan Gandapur states: “The office order issued vide No. 288/BOG/MTI/DIK dated June 2, 2023, regarding the suspension of Prof Dr Naseem Saba, Dean/CEO, Gomal Medical College MTI D I Khan, is hereby withdrawn in the best public interest.”

It merits a mention here that the June 2 notification issued by the BoG suspended Dr Mehsud for a period of three months due to alleged gross misconduct in recruitment process and issuance of illegal appointment orders and violation of institutional rules and regulations.

However, when contacted Dr Naseem Saba told Dawn that she had already rejected the notification as the powers of the current BOG had expired on May 24, 2023, and this notification was just a piece of paper.
