PESHAWAR: Two militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in the North Waziristan district on Friday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the gunfight took place in the Dossali area of the district, where troops “effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and sealed all possible escape routes.”

It said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, who had targeted security forces and killed citizens.

The sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any militants found in the area, the ISPR said.
