BAHAWALPUR, Jan 24: Supreme Court Chief Justice Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed has ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged gang-rape case of Uch Sharif. The apex court issued the orders on an application filed by a human rights body. The CJ asked the Bahawalpur district and sessions judge to submit his report by Jan 30.

Office bearers of the human rights body had visited the village near Uch Sharif to piece together facts of the gang-rape incident.

According to the fact-finding mission of the right body, the wife of a labourer in Alipur (Muzaffagarh area) was allegedly gang-raped by cycle-rickshaw driver Riaz, his brother Ayaz and three others.
