MELBOURNE, Jan 23: Australia will rest captain Ricky Ponting for the side’s triangular series one-day match against Sri Lanka in Adelaide on Thursday.
Ponting has been replaced by Brad Hodge in the squad.
Australia have implemented a rotation policy with their squad to rest senior players throughout the international season, with wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist being rested for two matches. He will captain the side in Ponting’s absence.—Reuters
