KARACHI, Jan. 23: A teacher of a private school was shot dead by unknown persons near in North Nazimabad on Monday morning. Ghazala Yasmeen, 25, was heading to work. When she reached near her school, unknown persons on a motorcycle opened fire on her and fled. The victim suffered three bullets and died on the spot, police said. Her body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities, police added.
Giving details, the police said that Ghazala was married to Nadeem Khan. Recently, she sought dissolution of the marriage. The hearing of her case was scheduled for Feb 9, the police said.
The victim’s family has nominated Nadeem Khan and his two brothers, Chand Khan and Noor Khan, in the FIR.
KILLED: A watchman was shot dead by unknown persons in Soldier Bazar on Monday morning.
Police said Abdul Hanan, 55, was working as watchman of the SM Apartment in Solider Bazaar where unknown persons barged into apartment’s premises and opened fire at him.
In another incident, unknown persons shot dead a young man in Orangi Town. Police said that the deceased was identified as Jaseem Siddiqui whose body was found in the Baba Willayat Shah Colony in Orangi. The victim had suffered multiple bullet wounds.
DIES: A housemaid was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a house in Gulberg on Monday.
Samena, 13, used to look after the children of a lady doctor.
Police said that on Monday when the lady doctor returned home, she found Samena hanging from the ceiling fan. The police said that the victim’s dupatta was used in the hanging.
The police said that the girl used to reside in a nearby slum in Gulberg girl parents claimed that their daughter could not have committed suicide. Police sent the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.
