KARACHI: Sewage problems

Published January 23, 2006

KARACHI, Jan 22: Service roads around the Edhi Morgue at Sohrab Goth are inundated with sewerage water from the last many weeks, exposing the performance of the Gulberg Town administration. Since dead bodies from the entire Karachi are brought to Edhi morgue, a large number of people remain gathered outside the mortuary. However, the inundation of services road there with sewage water is causing tremendous difficulties for people.

The ponds of sewage water around the Edhi Centre are also creating problems for ambulances that come and go for shifting of bodies. On the other hand it has also become impossible for people living in the area to use the service road, who have to take long walks to reach their houses.—PPI
