TOBA TEK SINGH: Police arrested in Lahore a former MPA from Toba Tek Singh, also a defeated PTI candidate in 2018 general election from PP-120 (Rajana), retired Brig Javed Akram and his daughter-in-law Advocate Fayeza Murad, in connection with attack on Lahore Corps Commander’s House.

Javed Akram’s family sources say both the ex-MPA and his daughter-in-law had been nominated in the case of attack on the Jinnah House, Lahore, on May 9, after the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad’s Samanabad police arrested on Sunday another ex-MPA and PTI ticket-holder from PP-105, Malik Muhammad Ismail Seela, in a raid on his house.

He was booked in an FIR registered under section 7 of the Anti Terrorism Act (ATA) for taking part in protest demonstrations following the arrest of PTI chief on May 9.

DETENTION ORDERS: Deputy commissioner Adnan Irshad issued on Sunday the detention orders of 22 PTI office-bearers, ticket-holders and activists for a period of 30 days under section 3 of the MPO.

Sources say that some of the persons whose detention orders were issued by the DC have already been arrested, while police were conducting raids to nab others.

They include Amer Butt, Irfan Jutt, Rozi Khan, Rana Usama Sarwar, Saeed Ahmad Saeedi, Suhail Abbas Tippu, Zeeshan Ahmad Randhawa and Haji Muhammad Ali Sidhu (of Toba Tek Singh), and others.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide in Sadiq Town locality of Rajana on Sunday.

According to his relatives, Ahmad Zafar quarreled with his father Zafar Mahmood over a monetary issue and took poison. He was shifted to Rajana Rural Health Centre where he expired.
