Pakistanis were still encountering issues accessing social media websites and apps like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube without VPNs, more than 12 hours after the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said it was removing restrictions that were put in place for three days to quell violent protests.

Political commentator Abdul Moiz Jafrii asked why it was blocked again.

Dawn.com staffers also encountered similar issues, which were varying across apps. Twitter was not working for anyone, but Facebook and YouTube were for some users. TikTok was also accessible to some staffers.
