PESHAWAR, Jan 21: NWFP Minister for Education Maulana Fazle Ali Haqqani has said that the provincial government will establish 11 colleges, including nine for women, in the next financial year.

He was speaking at a training workshop organized by the Higher Education Commission for women English language teachers at the Frontier University for Women (FUW) here on Saturday.

Vice-Chancellor Farhana Jehangir and Director Higher Education NWFP Muhammad Amin were present on this occasion.

The minister said the MMA had propaganda against the provincial government that the religious parties would deprive women of their right to education.

He said the government was giving foremost attention to the education sector, particularly for women.

He said the provincial government had allocated Rs17 billion in the current financial year for the education sector, which was 10 times bigger than the amount allocated for the purpose in 2001.
