Fund raiser on 24th

LAHORE, Jan 20: The Singers Welfare Association is holding a cultural show on Jan 24 for raising funds for the quake survivors and adopt-a-family programme introduced by Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi. Prominent singers Ali Haider, Khwaja Haider, Saira Nasim, Arif Lohar, Asif Mehdi and film actress Reema Khan are likely to participate in this show.

Khwaja Pervaiz and Saira Nasim, the association office-bearers, told a news conference at the Lahore Press Club on Friday that the SWA had given Rs520,000 to the President’s Relief Fund and another Rs2 million would be collected by the association for the help of the affected people.

They said the association would organize more cultural shows in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Multan after Moharram. They said they would visit the UK and European countries for raising funds for the noble cause.—APP
