NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 18: A youth died in the Naushahro Feroze Civil Hospital on Tuesday after being administered an injection.

Reports said the youth, Sajan, 19-year-old, son of Darya Khan Buriro, resident of the Allah Bux Buriro village, was brought to the Civil Hospital Naushahro Feroze due to illness where doctors administered him an injection. The boy died immediately.

The protesting relatives of the deceased thrashed the doctors, including Karam Leghari and Ayaz Memon and a dispenser.

Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Rasool Almani, the TPO of Naushahro Feroze, Manzoor Phull and a number of police officers reached the hospital and held talks with the protesting relatives of the deceased.

They complained that the deceased had irregular blood pressure problem and the doctors administered the injection which raised the blood pressure and caused death.

Dr Almani told Dawn that the boy had been brought to the hospital with a BP of 300/180. The Medical Superintendent of the hospital said that he had reached the hospital at 11pm and after getting details he advised the protesters to go to Nawabshah or to a Hyderabad hospital for ascertaining the cause of death if they did not trust the Naushahro Feroze hospital doctors.

On Wednesday, the paramedical staff and doctors wore black armbands, boycotted duties, observed token hunger strike and demanded registration of an FIR against the protesters.
