TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman turned out to be the killer of her husband who was missing since March 27.

According to Faisalabad’s Satiana police, Ghulam Mustafa of Samundri’s Chak 445-GB went on March 27 to the house of his in-laws in Basti Janjuawali to bring back his wife, Salma Bibi.

When he did not return, his younger brother, Irfan, telephoned the next day to Salma Bibi, who told him that her husband had returned the same day after quarrelling with her.

The Satiana police registered a kidnap case against the unidentified person(s).

During investigation, Salma confessed that she and her friend Muhammad Usman gave him a meal spiked with sedatives and later slaughtered him. They buried the body in a room in her house.

The police recovered the body on Friday and shifted it to the Satiana Rural Health Centre for an autopsy.

Her accomplice Muhammad Usman was arrested.

PROTEST: Scores of people blocked traffic on Friday outside a free flour distribution centre in Faisalabad on Jhang Road after they failed to get bags due to heavy rush.

They chanted slogans against mismanagement at the centre. Later, police officials assured them that higher authorities will be apprised about their problem over which they ended their protest.

HELD: Faisalabad’s Sargodha Road police arrested on Friday a narcotic seller from near the Punjab Medical University and recovered from his custody more than two kilograms of hashish.

According to the FIR registered under sections 9-(1)3-C and 15 of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997, complainant ASI Rana Muhammad Imran said that arrested drug dealer Ali Asghar confessed that he was selling narcotics to medical university students.

DEAD: A woman missing since March 2 was found dead in a sem nullah in Faisalabad along Dijkot-Tandlianwala Road on Thursday night.

According to Roshanwala police Station House Officer Zahid Awan, the body of Rukhsana Bibi of Chak 248-RB had been shifted to the Dijkot Rural Health Centre for ab autopsy.

He said she had gone out of the house for farmland two days ago but had disappeared.

USTAD DAMAN: Punjab Council of Arts Faisal and Department of Urdu of Government College Women University (GCWU), Faisalabad, held on Friday a one-day seminar and mushaira in the memory of famous Punjabi poet and writer Ustad Daman at the GCWC.

Prof Jalil Aalli, Hafeez Khan Dr Jafar Hassan Mubarak and Dr Sher Ali spoke about Ustad Daman.

A mushaira was also organised on the occasion in which Arif Bukhari, Shafqat Hussain Shafqat, Dr Jafar Hassan Mubarak, Bushra Naz, Farooq Baig, Riaz Qadri and Kausar Sindhu recited their poetry.
