KARACHI, Jan 18: Chairperson of the PPP-SB Ghinwa Bhutto has termed contents of Gen Pervez Musharraf’s address to the nation on Tuesday ‘full of contradictions and confusion’, and observed that he has not presented any solution to the serious problems being faced by the nation.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, she pointed out that he had not even touched the issue of US air raid on Bajour Agency area where, she claimed, more than 20 people, including women and children, had been killed. The air strikes clearly indicated that the rulers had mortgaged the sovereignty of the country, she added.

Ms Bhutto also criticized Gen Musharraf for his decision with regard to Kalabagh and Basha dams, saying that the confusing decision taken by him at his own whim would further widen the gulf between the government and the people.

As regards the NFC Award formula, she noted that it rejected the smaller provinces’ suggestions which indicated that this problem would persist in the future.

She pointed out that the general had also not presented a workable solution to the Balochistan crisis, which she stressed, could only be overcome through political means.
