TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has started issuing smart cards to the property owners of residential colonies and commercial markets under FDA’s control.

Operation Director Qaseem Alvi explained digitisation and the salient features of smart cards. Also, the files of plots have been digitisated and smart cards will help avert any chance of forgery, fraud, or tampering with documents. All documents have been made secure through this system in case of theft of file, fire, or any other incident.

ATTACK: Two unidentified people allegedly attacked Khawar Gadhi late on Wednesday when he was going from Chak 270 GB to 271 GB regarding his election campaign.

He is a candidate for PP 121. He told police that both attackers opened indiscriminate fire on his car; he, however, remained unhurt. The Rajana police followed the attackers and arrested one of them.

The police have not so far disclosed his identity.

BOOKED: The Shorkot City police booked on Thursday health department employee Nayyar Hassan for issuing bogus tokens to flour seekers at the Shorkot Government High School flour distribution point.

The police arrested him and Muhammad Naveed of Tulamba, Khanewal, and recovered eight flour bags from them.

A case was registered against both under sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of naib tehsildar Khaliqdad Mumtaz.

KILLED: A motorcyclist died after a trailer hit him on Thursday at Faisalabad on Samundri Road near the Government LCM High School.

According to Rescue 1122, Abdul Wahab of the D-Type Colony was rushed to the DHQ Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver fled the scene after the accident.

HELD: Faisalabad’s Mureedwala police arrested on Thursday Baba Muhammad Sharif from his outhouse located in the graveyard of Chak 192-GB after the video on social media showed him committing obscene acts with women.

According to the FIR registered under Section 294 of the PPC, complainant Akhtar Abbas Durraj claimed that he also watched the video in which the suspect was exploiting innocent women who visited his outhouse to get his prayers.
