QUETTA, Jan 16: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has said his government has always stressed the need for dialogue to solve problems of the province because violence cannot resolve any issue.

Talking to a delegation of Baloch youths from Karachi, the chief minister said his government had made repeated offers for negotiations.

“Damaging gas pipelines, bridges, railway lines and power transmission system harms Balochistan and its people,” he said, adding that the government would take all possible steps to protect people’s life and property.

He said the people of Balochistan were aware of the conspiracies being hatched to foil the government’s efforts to develop the province.

He said his government was paying special attention to backward areas. However, he added, some elements wanted the common people to continue to be their economic slaves.

He said the government was determined to execute all development projects despite facing a difficult situation.

He alleged that the opposition was misleading the intelligentsia in other provinces about the situation in Balochistan.

The chief minister said the people of Balochistan had rejected such elements and their parties in recent elections.
