ISLAMABAD, Jan 16: Acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Monday ordered disciplinary action against three senior officials of the Sindh administration for pressurizing a presiding officer during the NA-210 Jacobabad-III by-election.

In his orders, the acting CEC directed the Sindh chief secretary to initiate disciplinary action against Ghulam Sarwar Sarki, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister Sindh, District Police Officer Kashmore and Shaukat Ali Rind, SHO of the police station concerned for pressurizing Presiding Officer Ali Sher Sarki.

The Election Commission has already fixed February 25 for fresh by-election in the constituency.

Earlier the commission in its meeting on December 21 had annulled results of the by-election held in NA-210 on December 10 on the grounds of irregularities and violation of election laws.
