LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday arrested a man for allegedly uploading objectionable pictures and videos of a woman on social media.

According to the FIA Lahore, its cybercrime wing, the woman in her complaint submitted that suspect Afaq Sarwar had been blackmailing her for the last few months.

She said that of late the suspect uploaded her objectionable pictures and videos on social media.

Acting on the complaint, an FIA team on Friday raided Sarwar’s place in Lahore and arrested him. The team seized the suspect’s mobile phone and sent it for forensic analysis.

A case has been registered against the suspect under the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act (PECA).

Meanwhile, the FIA Multan arrested a human smuggler who had been absconding for the last two years.

It said the suspect, Zohaib Afzal, had received Rs1.8 million from the complainant, on the pretext of sending him to the United Kingdom.

The suspect has been arrested in Bahawalpur and a case registered against him.
