CDA razes mosque in G-6/3 park

Published February 1, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday demolished a mosque that was reportedly constructed in the premises of a park at sector G-6/3, official sources told Dawn.

They said the operation was conducted by the Authority’s enforcement directorate with the assistance of local police and officials of district administration.

The mosque, they said, was established in street No-1 of the sector, some eight months ago, but it was still under-construction.

A number of notices were issued to the management committee of the mosque for its removal, but they did not pay any heed, the sources said.

They said the mosque was established without CDA’s approval.— Our Reporter
