MULTAN, Jan 31: The Bahauddin Zakariya University on Thursday declared the results of MA history, Part-I, first annual examinations, 2001.

Some 63 candidates took part in the examination and of them, 47 were declared successful, showing a pass percentage of 78.33.

Roll numbers of successful candidates are 1630, 1631, 1632, 1633, 1634, 1635, 1636, 1637, 1638, 1639, 1640, 1643, 1648, 1650, 1651, 1653, 1656, 1657, 1658, 1659, 1660, 1661, 1662, 1664, 1668, 1670, 1672, 1674, 1672, 1674, 1675, 1676, 1677, 1678, 1680, 1683, 1684, 1685, 1686, 1687, 1690, 1691, 1691, 1693, 1694, 1695, 1698, 1701 and 1702.

DEMAND: A minority wing leader of the Millat Party has demanded allocation of reserve seats for minorities in assemblies.

In a press statement here on Thursday, Iqbal Paul said the introduction of the joint electorate system would bring the minority people into mainstream of the national affairs. He demanded the government should also restore reserve seats for the minorities promised in the Constitution.

CIVIL DEFENCE: The district government will pay special attention to provide modern facilities to the Civil Defence Department to combat any kind of emergency.

This was stated by district Nazim Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi while speaking at a rehearsal of the Civil Defence at the Ghanta Ghar Chowk on Thursday.

The Nazim directed the civil defence officials to keep alert the required number of volunteers to cope with any emergency in the wake of looming war threat to Pakistan.
