TAXILA: Attock police on Wednesday resolved a murder case and arrested the person involved in it besides recovery of looted items.

Addressing a press conference at Jand police station, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sikandar Hayat Gondal said that Hafiz Mohammad Waseem - the owner of a cash and carry was shot dead during a robbery incident on Makhad road on Jan 18 this year.

He said that thesuspect managed to escape afterwards, adding that a police team, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Arbab Tufail traced the suspect through technical and human intelligence.

It may be mentioned here that soon after the incident of robbery-cum murder of shopkeeper Hafiz Mohammad Waseem, who is a graduate in business administration from University of Wah, the business community of Jand observed a shutter down strike and took out a protest rally to condemn the brutal murder.

Meanwhile, Taxila police arrested two persons identified as Nazir Jan and Haji Gull involved in various theft cases and recovered items worth Rs25,000.
