KARACHI: The Indus Pharma National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championship continued in full swing as players battled it out here at the Karachi Club hardcourts on Tuesday.
In the juniors U-18 singles quarter-finals, Dhuraf Das defeated Hasnain 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Soyam Kumar also secured his place in the semi-finals after beating Kashan Tariq 6-3, 7-5 while Raahim Veqar outclassed Muzammil Bhandh 6-3, 6-1.
Muzammil, though, confirmed his berth in the U-14 semi-finals after downing Ruhab Faisal 5-4, 4-0 while Ali Bachani also reached the last-four stage beating Ali Admani 4-2, 5-3.
In the U-12 singles quarters, Rohan Das and Ali Bachani won their matches against Majid Ali and Zayd Zaman, respectively.
In the men’s singles quarter-finals, Baqir Ali secured his place in the semi-finals after defeating Danish Hidayat 8-3. Zubair Raja also advanced to the semi-finals after beating Noor e Mustafa with the same score.
In the men’s doubles quarter-finals, Asad Ali Bhagat and Nomi Qamar overcame the duo of Zain and Razi 8-5 while Taha Bande Ali and Hasan Godil teamed up to prevail over the pair of Ali Zaidi and Shumael Tajammul 8-6. Bilal and Anil also proceeded to the semi-finals after beating Kashan and Samer 8-3 while Khalid Ali and Samer Piracha trounced Zubair Raja and Omer Shahid 8-4.
