KARACHI: A 40-year-old man was shot dead in Korangi late on Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

The Zaman Town police said that Jawed Wali took out his rickshaw from home and travelled some distance when armed motorcyclists, who were apparently chasing him, shot him at Korangi 3½ near Sunday Bazaar.

The driver suffered a single bullet wound in the chest and fell from the rickshaw, which hit a wall. The wounded victim got up and tried to run but fell again and died on the spot.

The police suspected some personal enmity behind the incident. They said that the victim had two wives.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
