MUZAFFARGARH: Former provincial minister and ex-PML-N ticket holder, Syed Haroon Ahmad Sultan Bukhari, officially announced his joining Pakistan People’s Party on Wednesday at Makhdom House, Lahore, where dozens of party leaders were also present.

Makhdom Haroon Bukhari is brother of Makhdom Basit Sultan Bukhari, a minister in Azad Jammu and Kashmir government.

Talking to Dawn, Bukhari said: “Only PPP can steer the country out of multiple crises. Soon Mr Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will visit Muzaffargarh.”

Malik Mazhar Pahor, district general secretary of PPP, said in coming days two more popular personalities of Muzaffargarh will join the party.

In the 2018 election, Haroon Sultan Bukhari contested on six constituencies on PML-N ticket but he was defeated by his brother Basit Sultan Bukhari and other PTI candidates. In the last no-confidence move, Basit had left PTI and joined PML-N.

On Wednesday, Haroon Sultan Bukhari joined PPP at Makhdom House, Lahore.
