PESHAWAR: A man and his wife died after they fired shots at each other following a heated debate in Shahabkhel area of the provincial capital on Friday, the police said.

Badhber police station officials said Khanzeb, a son of the deceased couple, lodged a case, stating that the incident took place following an exchange of arguments between his parents.

He stated that his parents were at home and discussing some issues when his father allegedly fired at his mother with a pistol. He said his mother rushed inside a room in injured condition, took a gun and shot at her husband. He said both his parents died on the spot.

The police said the case was being probed.
