Govt ‘fails to handle’ dam issue

Published January 11, 2006

GUJRANWALA, Jan 10: The Kalabagh dam is the need of the hour, but the government has failed to handle the important issue. This was stated by Punjab PML-N chief organizer Ghulam Dastagir Khan at a party meeting here. He said former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, besides other leaders, should be taken into confidence on the issue.

He criticized the government with the claim that its own chief minister of Sindh and other associates were opposing the government over the reservoir issue.

He alleged that the government was aggravating the situation in Balochistan, which was harmful to the country’s solidarity. He sought immediate end to the operation.
