Faiz Festival attracts more audience on second day

LAHORE: The second day of the Faiz Festival witnessed a larger audience compared to the first day as it offered many literary sessions and performances.

The visual art exhibition featuring eight artists from Pakistan and India remained the big focus of the students and visual art lovers.

A dance performance by students of the Lahore Grammar School has always been a regular feature of the festival and it also took place on Saturday too, getting appreciation from the audience.

The musical programme, AAj Janay Ki Zid Nah Karo, featuring Rizwan Wali Muhammad, was a tribute to legendary ghazal singer Habib Wali Muhammad and it also witnessed a great response. Sessions such as Faiz Sahib and Arshad, An Evening of Poetry and Piano, Remembering Nayyara Noor, featuring Shehryar Zaidi, Arshad Mahmud and Khawaja Najam also attracted music lovers.

The visitors also took interest in the session, The Ornaments in Our Music, with Yousaf Kerai and Muhammad Aizaz Sohail. Women in Political Leadership, Past and present was also a thought provoking session, featuring Khawar Mumtaz, Fauzia Viqar, Huma Price and Mehtab Rashidi.

The Drum Circle, the drum beating performance, another regular feature of the Faiz festival attracted a large number of people on the lawns of Alhamra. The youth especially took great interest in the Drum Circle and took part in the activity. Many danced to the beats of the drums. For visitors, the Drum Circle is a wonderful experience and people enjoy this performance a lot.

The Open Mic, another outdoor activity, also attracted many singers from the general public attending the festival and those having a passion for singing tried to explore their talent by singing at the Open Mic platform. On Sunday (today) classical dancer Adnan Jahangir will perform a performance for classical dance lovers.
