KARACHI: Engro Ferti­lisers Ltd posted earnings of Rs6.4 billion in October-December 2022, up 3.8 per cent from a year ago, a stock notice said on Thursday.

The fourth-quarter res­ult took the full-calendar year income to Rs16bn, down 24pc from the preceding 12-month period.

According to Alfalah CLSA Securities Ltd, a tax reversal of Rs0.89bn led to the rise of 53pc in the quarterly earnings on a sequential basis.

Net sales increased 16pc on a year-on-year basis to Rs46.1bn. The company also anno­unced a final cash dividend of Rs5 per share, taking the total to Rs13.50.

Meanwhile, Friesland Cam­pina Engro Pakistan Ltd reported its profit for 2022 clocked in at Rs2.4bn, up 36.6pc. It said the business environment rema­ins challenging amid rising inflation, foreign exch­ange constraints, deval­uation, higher finance cost and the imposition of super tax.
