VEHARI: Daneywal police on Saturday arrested a security guard for allegedly raping a bus hostess at gunpoint inside a bus parked at the local general bus stand.

According to police, a private security guard locked the bus door when it was parked at Vehari general bus stand and raped a hostess, who was in the vehicle, at gunpoint.

After committing the crime, the guard manged to escape from the scene.

The matter was reported to Daneywal police, that trace the suspect and arrested him from a locality on Luddan Road.

Danywal Station House Officer (SHO) Nasir Mehmood said the police registered a case against the suspect as the girl’s medical report issued by the district headquarters hospital confirmed the rape.

He said further investigation into the matter was underway.
