TOBA TEK SINGH: Two men were burnt alive when they were struck by lightning during torrential rain in Pirmahal’s Chak 332-GB Jakhra village on Sunday evening.

Rescue 1122 reported that Muhammad Arshad, 36, and Abdul Latif, 45, were busy with construction work on a shrine in izafi abadi of the village when suddenly they were struck by a lightning bolt. Resultantly, both died instantly.

Meanwhile, in the Mahndi Town locality of Faisalabad’s Samundri city, three members of a family fell unconscious after having lunch at home on Sunday. Rescue 1122 personnel shifted them to Samundri THQ Hospital where they had yet to regain consciousness till the filing of this report.

They were identified as Anwarul Haq, 50; his wife Naureen Akhtar, 40; and their daughter Noor Perveen, 7. It is suspected that they consumed a poisonous substance in their food. Police were conducting an investigation.
