RAHIM YAR KHAN: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam senator and secretary general Abdul Ghafoor Haidri has said the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is not an electoral alliance.

Speaking at a presser here on Friday night during a visit to the district, Mr Haidri blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s policies for the rising exchange rate of dollar.

To a question, he said the JUI-F leadership would decide whether the party would contest the by-elections and next general elections independently or as part of an alliance.

He said many PTI leaders were new to t e politics and did not face jails and floggings so far, adding that such hardships were essential to any political movement.

He said that in politics one could even be hanged, so the PTI leaders should stop crying and show political tolerance.

MoU SIGNED: The Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) Rahim Yar Khan and NFC Institute of Engineering and Fertilizer (NFC-IE&FR) Faisalabad, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further the academic, social and cultural objectives and promote better understanding between faculty and students of both institutions.

As per a press release issued on Saturday, the KFUEIT Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Suleman Tahir and NFC-IE&FR Director Prof Dr Najaf Ali signed the MoU.

As per the MoU terms the two institutes will have academic and cultural exchange, exchange of educational materials, research reports, reprints and other publications, besides faculty and staff development programmes.

The institutions will also launch joint research and development projects, transfer of technology and other scholarly pursuits to maximise reciprocity and minimise the cost of participation.
