NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A terrorist associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan was killed and two others were arrested during an intelligence-based operation carried out by security forces in Marsikhel area here on Saturday.

Local officials said the security forces conducted the operation after they received information about presence of the banned TTP affiliates in Marsikhel area of Miramshah. They added one militant was killed during crossfire with the security forces, and two others were arrested.

“Two affiliates of the banned outfit were arrested and arms and ammunition recovered from their procession,” officials said, adding some cash, Afghan origin SIM cards and other equipment used for communication were also recovered during the operation.

The officials also said the arrested militants were being interrogated and more arrests were expected.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations said the killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
