Over 1,200 take KU entry test for evening programme

KARACHI: As many as 1,202 candidates appea­red in the entry test for BS first year for BSCS and BSCE (Computer Science) and BS Applied Physics Evening Programme 2023 at the University of Karachi on Sunday.

The KU has received 1,668 online forms for the available 270 seats in the department of computer science and applied physics.

The entry test was organised in 23 classrooms at the departments of political science and computer science.

According to a press release, 321 candidates, who appeared and cleared the morning programme entry test but could not get the admissions, had also submitted their online admission forms for the evening programme but they were exempted from the test. Their previous score would be considered while preparing the final result of the evening programme entry test.

KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Registrar Dr Abdul Waheed, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Nusrat Idress and others visited the exam centres.

The university provided a transport service to the candidates and their parents and waiting areas were also set up for parents and guardians close to the examination centres.

The in-charge KU directorate of admissions said the list of successful candidates would be uploaded within 24 hours and the candidates could check their score on the official web portal www.uokadmission.edu.pk on Monday (today).
