Aamir, Hamza in finals

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6: Pakistan’s Aamir Atlas Khan and Hamza Bokhari reached the finals of their respective categories in the British Junior Squash Championship, according to reports available on Friday.

Aamir disposed of England’s Chris Simpson 9-7, 6-9, 9-6, 10-8 in the semifinal and is now pitted against Ramay Ashour of Egypt in the final of under-19 age group, scheduled to be played later Friday.

In the under-13 age category, Hamza Bokhari overpowered Egyptian Mohamed Ab El Ghar 9-5, 8-10, 9-7, 9-4 and will take on another Egyptian Karim Fathy in Saturday’s final.

However, another Pakistani semifinalist in the Under-13 category, Nasir Iqbal, lost his match to Karim Fathy from Egypt, who won 9-1, 9-5, 5-9, 9-4.

In the U-15 age group, Pakistan’s Farhan Zaman was defeated by Adel Zarka from Egypt with a game score of 3-1. Zarka won 9-6, 9-5, 5-9, 9-4.

In the under-17 age group semifinal, Shohaib Hassan also lost to Mohamed A A Reda from Egypt in straight sets 9-5, 9-4, 9-2.—APP
