SUKKUR: Activists of nationalist parties took out rallies and staged demonstrations in many towns of the province Sindh in protest against police action against workers on the occasion G.M. Syed’s birth anniversary in Sann the other day.

The call for the protest was issued by Syed Zain Shah, president of the Sindh United Party. The protesters’ leaders demanded Chief Minster Sindh tender resignation over the incident as well as SSP of Jamshoro.

They said that police had used batons on peaceful workers at the behest of chief minister.

The workers of SUP and other nationalist parties staged demonstrations in Sukkur district, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Thull, Dor,

Tahro Shah and Moro where the leaders condemned what they as Zardari’s fascism against workers.

They demanded a judicial commission should be formed and action should be taken against the police force involved in baton charge and shooting. They appealed to Supreme Court to take notice of the incident at Sann and order appropriate action against the officials involved in the shameful act.

They said they would never tolerate state terrorism on the soil of Sann because it was revered by all Sindhis. They demanded higher authorities should immediately order release of the workers picked up a day before during action in Sann in the course of G.M. Syed’s birth anniversary programme.

They demanded that SSP of Jamshoro should be removed immediately and a judicial commission should be formed to launch inquiry into the episode.
