LAHORE: The ‘Faiz Aman Mela,’ which will be conducted in Lahore on Feb 12, has been finalised.

The fair will commemorate the 112th birth anniversary of Urdu revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz this year. The central organising committee of the Faiz Mela met at the Lahore Press Club to finalise the arrangements.

On Feb 12, the fair will begin at 1pm at the Cosmo Club site in Bagh-i-Jinnah. Powerful musical performances, poetry, political debates, theatre, and classical dance are all part of the programme. There will be discussions of Faiz’s poetry as well as current political, economic, and environmental challenges.

The Mela attracts journalists, poets, academics, peasants, and many progressive and political organisations. “Umeed Sehar ki bat suno” will be the theme of Faiz Mela this year as it was decided in the meeting.
