MUZAFFARGARH: Five men allegedly kidnapped a youth on Saturday, subjected him to physical torture and then chopped off his nose, over suspicion of having relations with a woman at Khairpur Sadaat village of Alipur tehsil.

The family of the 25-year-old Asif Magsi told police that the suspects kidnapped him from Gabbar Araien village of Alipur tehsil and subjected him to severe physical torture.

They said the suspects later chopped off Asif’s nose, alleging he had relations with a woman who was related to them.

According to the statement the victim gave to Alipur police, the five suspects — Falak Sher, Yousuf, Abdul Sattar, Kaleem Ullah and Abdul Aziz — kidnapped him from his farm at gunpoint and took him to Gabbar Araien area, where they tortured him and then chopped off his nose with a knife.

Police said a case would be registered after investigations into the matter.

The injured youth was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Sources said that police were delaying the registration of the case against the suspect because of confusion over the jurisdiction. They said Khairpur police claimed that the incident occurred in the limits of Khairpur Sadaat police station, while the latter disputed the claim.

Alipur SDPO Yousuf Haroon said he was looking into the matter.
