MITHI: Carcass of a fawn was on Friday found lying along the track prepared for the the Thar Jeep Rally, which began in the morning.

A group of villagers, who spotted the carcass along the track, passing through Khario village, and informed officials of the wildlife department, who believed that unknown hunters might have killed the fawn’s mother and left the baby in a desolate place near the track.

The villagers alleged that its mother might have been hunted down by those who were employed to prepare the track, and demanded.

Arbab Lutufullah, the Special Assistant to the CM on sports who is organiser of the jeep rally, said that he had directed the wildlife officials to investigate the fawn’s death and guessed that the carcass might have been thrown on the track by the people who were opposing the event “for their vested interests”.
