Bail granted

Published January 31, 2002

PESHAWAR, Jan 30: The Peshawar High Court, Abbottabad circuit bench, allowed bail to two members of a banned outfit.

The bail application of Hashim Abbas and Haider Abbas, who were arrested after the ban was imposed on five groups, was moved before the PHC following its rejection by a lower court.

Counsel for the applicants argued that they were falsely implicated by the police in the crackdown launched against extremists immediately after the ban was announced.
