BAJAUR, Jan 30: Political authorities arrested 25 volunteers of a banned organization on Tuesday.

The volunteers had been freed in Afghanistan and were trying to enter from Nawa Pass on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border when they were arrested. They belong to different parts of the Malakand division.

Officials said the volunteers would be shifted to Haripur or Peshawar prisons for investigations.

A delegation led by Maulvi Rehmat Khan had visited Afghanistan to secure the release of the volunteers, held by the commanders of the Northern Alliance.

The delegation head told Dawn that more than 3,000 Pakistanis were still in the captivity of warlords. He said commanders were demanding Rs100,000 ransom for their release. He said the delegation would soon visit Kabul to seek the support of the interim government to set free the detainees.
