Liquor, arms seized

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 30: Cantonment police carried out raids in various parts of the town on Tuesday and recovered liquor and illegal arms.

On a tip off, a raid was conducted at a hotel on the Bannu Adda where Ashraf, a resident of Darya Khan in Punjab, was arrested with two bottles of liquor.

The accused informed the police that he had got the liquor from Amanullah and Dost Mohammad residing in Thaheemabad. Search warrants were sought from senior civil judge and a raid was conducted in the locality. ASI Sona Khan led the police party.

During the house search, 45 bottles of liquor, one dagger and one 30-bore pistol with four rounds were recovered from a box. Amanullah was arrested under Drug Act/13 Arms Act and sent to jail. Police are trying to arrest Dost Mohammad.
