Quake moot from 15th

RAWALPINDI, Jan 4: A three-day conference on “Earthquake 10/8: Social, human and gender issues”, organized by Fatima Jinnah Women University and University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, will kick off here on January 15.

According to a press release, HEC Chairman Dr Attaur Rehman will inaugurate the conference while Turkish envoy Hasan Kemal Gur will present the keynote address.

It is expected that more than 120 professionals and academics from national and international institutions will participate.

International participants such as Dr Salma Siddique, Napier University Edinburgh; Kay Chang, University of Macao; Dr Anne Kalyajian, New Jersey; Marry Rilley, Soroptimist International Institute, USA; Richard B. Freeman and Ahmed Talebi, College of Environment, Tehran, will present papers on the topic.— Our Reporter
