DERA GHAZI KHAN: Nutrition awareness sessions are going on in the district at the official level with an emphasis that a healthy and energetic nation is possible through balanced food.

The Punjab Food Authority, Department of Health, Planning and Development Board have pooled their efforts to carry out this campaign.

One such session was held at the Government Girls Community Model School, Basti Arainwala, where PFA nutritionist Alina Mushtaq told teachers and students to take into account the importance of food and its use.

She said due to negligence and lack of knowledge, our boys and girls were weak and we had to make them strong and energetic.

“Children should inform their parents about the importance of good food.”

The nutritionist said our diet should contain rich minerals, vegetable, fruit and dry fruit. She asked students to avoid junk food and make body accustomed to physical work.

The students were also informed about hand washing and cleanliness.
