JACOBABAD, Jan 2: District Nazim Begum Saeeda Soomro has said the government is committed to providing basic amenities to people of remote areas. She was speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate gas supply to the Lal Bux Bughio village here on Monday.

She said she wanted to provide gas facility to every village.

Earlier, Larkana regional SSGC manager Saeed Ahmad Larik said Rs3.2 million had been spent on the project to supply gas to the Lal Bux Bughio village. He said the project would benefit 100 houses.

On a complaint of union council nazim Khamiso Khan about low gas pressure in the city, the district nazim directed SSGC authorities to redress grievances of consumers.

Later, talking to journalists, she urged people not to waste money on marriage parties. She said the Supreme Court had banned serving meals in marriage parties and added that the court directive would be implemented.
