ISLAMABAD: The Health Services Academy (HSA) has signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) with a US-based charitable organisation to enhance the capacity of healthcare professionals and medical students.

HSA Vice Chancellor Dr Shahzad Ali Khan and Chairman of Rehmat Foundation Dr Ghulam Qadir signed the MoU. Pakistan Medical Association Islamabad General Secretary Dr Mubasher Mushtaq Daha, Chairman Talim Foundation Dr Zafar Iqbal and others also participated in the event.

As per the MoU, both the institutions will provide support to each other in the field of medicine as the foundation meant to provide training of medical teachers in America, training of medical students and other facilities.

Besides, the foundation will provide support in establishing understanding with various medical universities in America and Dr Hanif has been nominated as the focal person in order to make arrangements to enhance the core purpose of the plan.

According to the MoU, the foundation is a tax-exempted charitable organisation whose goals include improving the healthcare of Pakistani residents by enhancing medical education through virtual lectures, case conferences and medical services for students and connecting professionals and institutions in Pakistan with their counterparts in the United States.
