SWAT: Additional Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ahmad said on Thursday that the e-stamp paper system would bring transparency in land and property dealings and eliminate forgery and fraud.

After inaugurating e-stamp papers in the district, he said that launching the system was part of the provincial government’s initiative of e-governance.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Latif, officials of National Bank and revenue were also present on occasion.

He said that in the past various tactics were used for illegal activities through the stamp papers.

“The new online system and launching of e-stamp paper will not only bring transparency, but it will also stop the illegal culture of issuing stamp papers in back dates,” he said.

The official said that e-stamp papers would also help to resolve the property disputes and identify the exact price of land. He said e-stamp papers would uproot forgery and fraud as they would be verified online.

“The provincial government is trying to provide services to the people at their doorsteps. Now people of Swat can get e-stamp papers through the website www.estamp.kp.gov.pk with a single click,” he added.

Mr Ahmad said that initially, the service was available in Babuzai tehsil but it would be extended to other tehsils by the district administration in the next week. He also printed an e-stamp paper to launch the system officially.
