LAKKI MARWAT, Jan 1: Former Nazim of Lakki Marwat Naimatullah Khan Khoidadkhel has said that “we have always strengthened the hands of our allies in elections instead of deceiving them”. He was talking to local journalists at his residence here on Sunday.

The former nazim, who had played a key role in forging alliance between the Saifullahs and Anwar Kamal Marwat group, said he was proud to have brought rival political groups close to each other in the best interest of the people.

With the efforts of the two groups combined, the development of the backward Lakki district has been ensured, he said.

“The victory in recent elections for the posts of district and tehsil naib nazims clearly proved that none of the political figures of the district could dare stand in the local government and general elections against the alliance,” he said, and blasted NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani for allegedly directing the quarters concerned not to accord sanction to the uplift schemes of MPA Anwar Kamal Marwat.
