RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan International Airlines on Tuesday operated a special flight from Islamabad to transport English and Pakistani cricket teams and officers to Multan, where they will play the second test match of the series.

A spokesman for the PIA said the two teams departed for Multan by a special flight PK 6681 from Islamabad, that was scheduled to fly at 11am on Tuesday. However, due to poor visibility at Multan airport, the special flight departed at 2:55pm.

On behalf of the PIA, special arrangements were made at Islamabad International Airport and Multan Airport for the purpose.

The spokesman said air hosting of the two teams was a matter of pride for the national flag carrier.
