CHAGAI: Lawyers in several districts of Balochistan’s Rakhshan division on Thursday boycotted lower courts in protest against alleged misbehaviour of a judicial magistrate posted in Dalbandin.

The lawyers staged protests in Chagai, Noshki and Kharan districts, leaving the clients and others concerned to suffer.

Speaking to Dawn, Chagai Bar Association president Abdul Shakoor Badini said the court officer continuously misbehaved with lawyers and clients by violating the decorum of court, adding that they were fed up with the hostile environment in the court.

He added that the prevailing situation compelled the lawyers in Chagai to protest on Wednesday, which was later joined by other members of the community in neighbouring districts on Thursday. Mr Badini said the protest would continue until the judicial magistrate is transferred.

The magistrate did not comment when Dawn tried to get his version about the allegations levelled against him.
