LAHORE: The Kinnaird College for Women University’s food science and human nutrition department students on Wednesday exhibited their food products.

The students showcased their innovative, nutrient-dense food products, including radlina munchies, farley, Pap’in Mojito, Plumli squash, maizookies, lentil pasta, alum munchies, ferox munch and marble cake rusks.

As per the department, the event was aimed to prepare the aspiring entrepreneurs for starting a new business venture and the products put on display go through a test and trial, carefully supervised by the teachers.

It says this opportunity helps students use their faculty of creativity and polishes their marketing expertise to develop their own brand identities and novel products.

Some of the flavourful bites included maizookies filled with nuts and chocolate chips -- a healthy alternative to sweet cravings that boosts the immune system and gives instant energy.

Papini mojito is a fruitful combination of papaya and pineapple, delivering several health benefits. It has high fiber content and aids in digestion.

Radlina munchies are substitutes for normal crackers, fulfilling your sodium and sugar needs. They promote heart health and regulate blood sugar level.

Farley made from dates, almonds and dark chocolate, makes a nutritious and tasty snack for your tea party. It is rich in fiber and a great source of antioxidants.

Plumli squash is a combination of plum, imli and sugar. It boosts immunity and is the best alternative to carbonated drinks.

Lentil pasta is an excellent substitute for the regular pasta. It is loaded with folate, iron, phosphorus and potassium.

Ferox munchies are sweet and crunchy, with roasted nuts on the top. These are rich in fiber and contain anti-aging and energy boosting properties.

Marble cake rusks meet the need for light food hunger, are easily digestible and satisfy the chocolate cravings.

The teachers who supervised the event include Dr Rabia Naz, Dr Nadia Akram, Ms Memoona Khalid, Ms Fasiha Ilyas, Syeda Aliya Sherazi, Ms Nida Tasneem Khan, Ms Quratul Ain Aleem.
